Think about the hours, in Spain a siesta is generally scheduled and businesses are closed (e.g. from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.), and stay open until later, e.g. 8 p.m. or later.

Municipalities, on the other hand, often only work in the morning, as do banks.

We cannot compare a small town with the provincial capital, nor the tourist coastal towns with the inland. And we can never compare Spain with the Netherlands.

I have had my own business for over 20 years, with its tax returns, bookkeeping, social security contributions and insurance. In my time as a real estate agent and legal appraiser, I also helped many Dutch and Flemish people to buy a second home. Working from the Netherlands (Helmond) as a Business Development Specialist purchasing, I also tried to support and improve the purchasing strategy of a Dutch factory in Spain.
