Who is the budget coach, and what has she done?
Who am I and what can I do for you.
My name is Irene. I was 20 years old when I packed my bags and emigrated to Spain, without my parents or other family. I had not received my pre-university education diploma yet (where is the post?) and my driver's license was still hot in my pocket. I worked on the Costa del Sol for 3 years as manager of 5 currencie exchange offices.
After those 3 years in the South, I moved to the Northeast to run my own business there. I had my own shop as a self-employed person for 25 years, and did everything myself, from accounting, taxes, purchasing, import, marketing, to sales. I am a qualified real estate agent and legal appraiser, with a master's degree in direction and real estate management. More than 10 years of experience in the real estate sector (both bank assets, new construction and luxury assets such as Golf Resorts). I also worked there for ING-Nationale Nederlanden (insurance and savings products).
Spanish accounting, taxes and municipal affairs are very complicated.
So I speak fluent Spanish, which is officially my second (father) language, and also Catalan, the language of Catalonia. I also have all Spanish school diplomas up to pre-bachelor.
I have been back in the Netherlands since 2021. In Helmond I was responsible for purchasing for the factory in Spain (Business Development Manager Purchasing). Afterwards, I worked for Rabobank for more than a year and a half, including at events (budget management/powers of attorney and guardianships, but also divorces) and insurance. In a short time I obtained the WFT basic, Insurance and Consumer (Loans). These diplomas are mandatory to be able to work at financial institutions or insurers. And guarantee that I know the current laws and regulations. These are not mandatory for the work as a budget coach, but they do provide support and more guarantee to my clients that I have the correct and useful experience.
I love helping people, which is why I am also very active as a volunteer. A love people. I am treasurer of a foundation, but I also do other volunteer activities. Because I also see that more often happens when you have money problems, you can get a depression or alcohol abuse, I thought it was a good idea to also obtain my MHFA Mental Health First Aid. It can also be the other way around, depression can create financial worries. And we would like to ensure that is not the case!
I also manage the website for the same Foundation, and I do the work of a copywriter, so I come up with texts but also flyers. In my years as a real estate agent I also did all the websites, sometimes also the entire layout as a website builder, and the marketing. Managing all rentals, sales, notaries and other paperwork, nothing is strange to me. And translating it into, for example, English (Fluent), Spanish and Dutch.
